When attached to the power pack the magnifying loop at right provides both a light source and 4x magnification, focal length is about 3 to 4 inches, so its great for looking in chambers, brass cases, and other tight spots. |
At Left is the exclusive focusing eye piece. Simply rotate the knurled portion of the eyepiece right or left to focus. The focal range will accommodate nearly anyone's eye sight. The probe in the starter kit is 6mm in diameter, 8" long, and included a sleeve with a 90 degree mirror so you can inspect the side wall of a chamber or bore easily. The 6mm probe measures .234" and the mirror tube is .246".
Below is the assembled scope. The hand piece houses two c batteries, the kit includes an extension tube that adds a third battery, great for extended use time. To turn on the light source you simply depress the white button and rotate the collar, it is equipped with a rheostat so the amount of light can be controlled.
You can see the cut at the tip of the probe, this is the 90 degree mirror. The mirror tube can be extended so that you can actually have about 15" of usable length. The tube will rotate 360 degrees so you can check the entire circumference of the bore without standing on your head. |
